PERSIAN & HIMALAYAN CATS AVAILABLE FROM N.CA SHELTERS & VETERINARIAN'S

Persian & Himalayan Cat Rescue cannot guarantee the temperament, breeding, or availability of any cat posted to this page.  If you inquire about a cat on this page and find him or her unavailable, please send a quick email to our webmistress: info@persiancats.org.  Thank you.  Over the years we have heard from many people thrilled with the Persian and/or Himalayan they adopted from a shelter. Please review these kitties thoroughly and give them a chance! The only reason they have not been brought into Rescue is because they arrived at a shelter when Rescues who could have taken them are over their legal limit or have no foster homes available. If you cannot adopt, but would like to foster, please contact us. We always need more foster homes. Thank you.

IMPORTANT:  We try hard to keep this current, but don't always know immediately when a shelter cat is no longer available.  Save yourself some time by calling the number listed under the cat and make sure he or she is available before going to the shelter!!  Also, if you adopt one of these cats, please e-mail and tell us -- thanks.

If you have trouble getting through to someone at any shelter, call Pat at 925-838-1838.

BLUE - ID#A046711 - Neutered Male 8 y/o Blue Point Himalayan
Blue is a very elegant gentleman, and he's definitely feeling blue about not having a loving home right now!  The shelter takes great care of him, but......  Please take him home from El Dorado County Animal Services - Placerville, located at 415 Placerville Drive, Suite N, Placerville, CA.  Call  (530) 621-7631 and ask for information about animal ID number A046711.

ID#A528718 - Female 2 y/o Red and White Persian
Wow -- what a cutie!  This little girl will ALWAYS look like a little kitten.  Please adopt this fun little girl from Contra Costa County Animal Services - Martinez, located at 4800 Imhoff Place, Martinez, CA.  Call  (925) 335-8300 and ask for information about animal ID number A528718.

VICTORIA - ID#A046676 - Spayed Female 2 y/o White Persian

Shelter says:  I am known as Queen Victoria my owner said I was 2 years old and she loves me very much but had to go to hospital and could no longer take care of me. I love to cuddle and I like to be brushed which is good because I need to be brushed every day. I have lived with other cats and small dogs, I am scared of bigger dogs and smaller children.  Please give the good Queen a new Palace from which to rule!  Adopt her from El Dorado County Animal Services - South Lake Tahoe, located at 1121 Shakori Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA.  Call (530) 577-1766 and ask for information about animal ID number A046676.

SISSY - ID# 54643 - Female 11 y/o Tortie Point Himalayan
Shelter says:  This little girl is just adorable and sweet as can be. Sissy is talkative and independent. She may see a bit shy at first, but she likes to be held and petted and is quite friendly once she gets to know you a little. She also loves to be brushed, and, as a Himalayan, will need regular bushing to keep her coat looking its best. Although she only has one eye, she gets around just fine! Since she is declawed, she will need to be an indoor kitty only, and would do best as an only cat, though she is compatible with children. Could Sissy be the one for you?   Sissy qualifies for our Senior Companion Program. If the adopter is 60 years or older, the adoption fee is waived for pets 5 years and over. Please adopt Sissy from the Sacramento SPCA, located at 6201 Florin-Perkins Road, Sacramento, CA.  Call (916) 383-7387 and ask for ID#54643.

LEO - ID#56143 Male 11 y/o White Persian

Shelter says:  Hello! My name is Leo! I am a sensible cat looking for a home. I prefer relaxing around the house, although I may enjoy a bit of playing now and then. I am looking for a quiet adult home that will take care of me for the rest of my life. If you are looking for a loving companion, please come and see me!  Please adopt Leo from Humane Society Silicon Valley, located at 2530 Lafayette Street, Santa Clara, CA.  Call 408-727-3383 and ask for ID#56143.

MINETTE - Spayed Female 8 y/o Torbie Persian
What pretty markings this cat has.  And, she obviously has that wonderful talent of being able to nap anywhere and make it look cozy. She's at Berkeley Animal Care Services, located at  2013 2nd Street, Berkeley, CA.  Call (510) 981-6600 and ask for information about animal ID number A012214.
